If you are looking to update a formal dining room or living room we could suggest two different shades of grey for the walls using the picture rail, or panelling (if you have it) as a cut off point. Matched with black or graphite accessories and silver frames on mirrors/pictures the completed look will start to evolve. White or a pale blue makes a crisp highlight colour which could be brought in through cushions, lampshades and other soft furnishings.

We've been busy painting the offices of the Staveley running shoe company who produce highly technical trainers. They have very impressive footwear, check them out.

Everything went smoothly and we fit in around various meetings. They were pleased with the results and sent us a short review:

Gary's been working hard updating the bedroom decor in an Edwardian property in Kendal. The room at the top of the house hadn't been decorated for over 30 years and it's come up great. Lots of very neat 'cutting in' paintwork between the sloping roof and the walls with the customers choice of contrast colours. Good job done.

The lads are shattered after a day sanding but the results are always very satisfying and the feedback we get is amazing.

All three studios at the Heaton Cooper Gallery in Grasmere are now complete. We have sanded, stained and sealed the floors, emulsioned the walls and eggshelled the painted woodwork. We even managed to fit in the desk.

Once all the floors are dry and the artwork has been restored, we will take some pics and post them for all to see.

It's tricky bringing lots of colour into your home as you need to consider other items in the room, but your stair well is a simple place where your imagination can run riot. A three or four colour combo works best, and remember it's just the riser you paint, not the tread.
